Warning
- The information here, while I've done my best to keep out anything that could be directly dangerous, is still about a VERY dangerous topic. Its something that's very easy to get lost in. I still don't even understand quite what that means but enough people I trust worry enough about it that I want to put this down. I am learning from an experienced mentor about this, and have already pledged to follow that path in order to learn to control this before it gets out of hand. If you do not have someone to work with, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!
Who is writing this?
- This is specifically an article about an experience Tymestl are having, and Quinn is the name of its current author. More will come as I learn from our mentor in this.
What is "Psychic Vampirism" to us?
- Psychic Vampirism is somewhat of a misnomer, used to refer to not only the taking of energy (emotional, basic life force, etc.) from others, but the addiction that comes along with doing so. It includes more than just Draining others as well, as you can do the opposite, pushing energy into them, and more.
Area/Ambient Feeding
- This is one of the simplest and "safest" ways of sating the hunger for a short period of time, especially before its grown very intense. Essentially you get yourself into an area where a lot of people are, and just feed on the trails they leave behind as they move through the world.
Direct Feeding
- This is more what people are used to, its the taking directly from one (or more) individual into yourself of generalized energy.
Active Empathy
- This refers to the situation where you are taking from someone specific feelings or emotions and draining them into yourself. This is a very useful ability that can be used both for and against others, but as with all feeding, the caveat is that you get what you take. Not all who can do PV can do any Empathic feeding, but we can.
Implanting/Imprinting
- This is something that's currently beyond what we know much about at all, but is pretty much what it sounds like...imprinting or implanting feelings and desires in someone else.
How does this affect systems?
- This sort of PV effects everyone within a system as it really happens at the body level, but one within a system can learn the skills and take responsibility for it. This is what I am doing.
How did we come by this?
- Essentially, our mentor chose recently to awaken us to this. I won't release any details that aren't already relatively common knowledge here of course. Basically in a moment of passion, the following conversation occurred, leading to her draining us to nearly nothing and then flooding us, showing us just how wonderful i can be...leading me to choose it for us, for me. In the following conversation, W is our mentor.
- W "You want this don't you?" (likely already showing us a tiny bit there)
- Q "Yes"
- W "And what do you do when you want something?"
- Q "I take it" (this is sort of our mentor's thing...its complicated, but its not as bad as it sounds)
- W "Yes! Then take it!"
- After this, we were shown everything...and the hunger is with us now. It could technically pass if we didn't act on it, but after W gave us the speech about how it could be dangerous, we also got her to begin teaching us about all this. I will not list the details of what we are taught here because its very likely to be dangerous out of context of course. As I dive deeper into this, I know the need will grow...but it feels good to need this, to want this. I've made my choice, and the others are fine with this as long as I accept responsibility for it. Besides, it gives me more of an identity than I had before, and something to do.
